Homemix DJ Kit 7

Acoustic Solutions DJ Kit is a cost effective CD mixing system, which will bring hours of fun to any beginner. My only criticism is that these CD players don't have many professional features, but for a beginner you cannot go wrong with this little set up.
Verdict: It is a perfect system if you just want to play a bit of music and maybe bend the pitch. It is good value for money, but only really any good to a amateur but lacks key features like anti shock.

Numark Mixdeck

The Mixdeck is the most impressive product I've seen this year. It has perfect features for the bedroom, mobile and even club DJ's. People can't understand how the iPod dock is good. It would be perfect for DJ drops. The only thing it lacks is when hooked up with Traktor it fails to work with some MIDI controls.
Verdict: Perfect all in one solution

American Audio VMS4

The VMS4 was widely promoted but fails to live up to our expectations. The VMS4 has a mouse pad but it is too tiny for a squirrel to put his fingers on the unit and select things. The unit feels tacky and looks the same. The knobs are wobbly and very undesirable at the price that the unit is. The jog wheels are very shaky so that cuts it out for scratch DJ's.
Verdict: Wait for the Traktor Kontrol S4

American Audio CDI 300 MP3

The CDI 300 has a lot to offer with scratch, 100% pitch, Master Tempo, 3 Hot Cues and MP3 CD functionality. It has a pretty sturdy jog wheel and the pitch has a clicker to tell you when your at -0.00%. The plastic buttons are big and durable but I'd say that the sign on the button would wear away after a few years. It also features SPDIF digital out and the American Audio Q-fader start.
Verdict: A good value MP3 CD Player that is slowly going out of date

Evolution eKeys From M-AUDIO

The Evolution eKeys is a 37 key MIDI keyboard.
It is a very small unit with no fancy features. Just the keys and an LED light to show you if the USB has connected. The annoying thing is that you usually cant play more than one key at the same time. Also the unit has no touch sensitive keys. So to compensate you will have to use the attack nob on Ableton or other DAW's.
When mapped up to Traktor 3 DJ Studio you can hear the notes when you hit the keys.
Verdict: Cheap and just a little bit cheerful

M-Audio AV20 Studiophile Active Desktop Speaker System

These small 20 WATT speakers give out great quality and decent wattage for a low price tag.
The AV20 speakers includes one 40 WATT active speaker that sends 20 WATT's to the other 20 WATT passive speaker. They are connected by high quality bare wire cable so only one power chord is needed. The active speaker has two RCA inputs and of course the bare wire output. The speakers have performed really well but the lack of the passive speaker failing to give sound sometimes has not helped it perform well.
Verdict: The ultimate budget active desktop speaker system

Behringer DJX 750

The Behringer DJX 750 is a 4 channel mixer with efx. You'd think its two BPM counters allow for easy mixing but that isn't the case as they dont really work. The 47 digital efx are good though and bring out your creativeness. The volume faders are not durable and one was twisted when we got it. We found when plugging in CDJ's or turntables the mixers inputs would wobble and you'd have to use most of your strength to push it in. Only 1 MIC input is a cause for concern and it also wobbles.
Verdict: All the bad things we've said there are just as many good features to compliment it. But Behringer in regards to quality need to get their act together
